Bride and groom walking to meet each other on top of mountain in Colorado.

We are innovative wedding photojournalists, first and foremost. This means our primary focus is telling your wedding story through our lens with sincerity and authenticity. We are also wedding documentarians, offering accurate — and creative — representations of the people, places, objects and emotions of your wedding day.

Our approach to wedding photography seamlessly blends photojournalism with elements of fine art, fashion and portraiture. We are not only photographers but artists who are dedicated to producing timeless images that you and your family will cherish for years to come!

Your photographer’s style and approach plays a crucial role in your overall wedding day experience. Methods and techniques matter a great deal in determining the look and feel of your wedding album. More importantly, though, your photographer’s approach helps to shape the way you relive the moments and emotions of your wedding day. Our approach is built upon three important pillars: love, storytelling, and creativity.

LOVE

Above all weddings are celebrations of love. Your wedding album should do more than document your day; it should tell a visual story of that love — of family and togetherness, of intimacy and emotion. When you look through your album you should find a beautiful narrative arc that runs from the first image to the last, a chronicle of your moments, your emotions, big and small!

This is our ultimate goal: to celebrate your love and deliver timeless photographs that transport you back to the sentiment and emotion of the day!

STORYTELLING

Photojournalism and documentary photography are two similar, yet distinctly different approaches. Both emphasize storytelling, objectivity and authenticity. The former is impartial, honest and pure, capturing moments and larger events as they happen with little to no subjective input from the photographer.

Documentary presentations, on the other hand, add a certain “color” to your story. While still authentic and true-to-life, the documentary approach allows for some subjective and/or editorial interpretation from the photographer, often leading to more dramatic and emotive images.

Both approaches have their place in a wedding, and both require attention to detail and anticipation on the part of your photographer. Anticipating — not waiting! — for smiles and laughs, for hugs and tears. We are well-versed in both approaches and have the experience needed to blend each style appropriately throughout your wedding day.

CREATIVITY

This is your day. You’ve planned it for months, or maybe even years, and there are a lot of moving parts to manage. From floral arrangements to food to music to family members — hopefully you’ve hired a good wedding coordinator! A wedding is certainly no small affair. The ceremony is going to be gorgeous, one to remember. The reception, the cake, the first dance — all phenomenal!

But let’s be honest, it can be a little stressful! With the right pieces in place, and the right vendors to make it happen, all you have to do is live for the day. That’s why we prioritize the things that matter most to you: family, friends, a seamless and memorable couples portrait experience. And, most of all, the moments, big and small!

A wedding is so much more than a ceremony, more than just an opportunity to recognize the union of two souls. Weddings, no matter the size, are grand celebrations: of love, of life, of two families coming together.

We make sure to prioritize those closest to you, not only during portrait sessions but throughout the day, and especially at those times where even the smallest of emotions matter. Like during the bridal reveal:

And all of the in-betweens. The little moments! Those fleeting fragments of time that all too often go unnoticed. The emotion in a bride’s eyes when the first look is said and done and she’s walking back to the bridal suite to rest and center her soul. The way a flower girl gazes at a bride’s reflection in the mirror, with equal parts curiosity, adoration and apprehension:

POSING

We want you to look and feel your best on your big day. Our style and techniques are designed to do just that. Posing should seem…well, unposed! It should look and feel natural, refined, effortless, never forced or overly formal. You be you and we’ll mind the details!
